Scale Fail

Can you guess what the title of this post means?  Can you?  Well, I am back once again.  Hopefully, I will be better about posting more consistently.  Fingers crossed (:

Sooo...remember how I told you of those annoying resolutions I joked about made on New Years?   I was supposed to lose (cough, cough) 1 (cough, cough) pound a week.  Yep, one. Uno.
Well, I hadn't weighed myself since then because I had been busy with school, kids, spouse, house, workshops, homework, bald dog (yeah, you read that right.  I took Peditos to a spa day at Petsmart and he went from this:

to this:

He was literally half his size after they gave him a trim shaved him.  And for the record, I think Petsmart has some sort of conspiracy going on and I think they KEPT Peditos and gave me a Chihuahua!  Do you agree with me?  I think yes!  Oh, and also for the record, I didnt paint my dog's nose green.  He found a label on the floor and he licked it up and it stuck to his nose.  (:

So back to my story, I hadn't had a chance to weigh myself.
Until today.  I dug the scale out from under Marko's bathroom sink and climbed on.  Imagine my shock, horror and utter disbelief when I got on it and discovered that the damned scale displayed a number that was THREE pounds higher than the number it displayed three weeks ago.  You would have thought I burned my feet with the way I jumped off of it so I could reset it, because surely, it wasn't registering right.  Right?! I mean RIGHT??!!
I climbed on, jumped off, climbed back on and jumped right back off 3 times and wouldn't you know it?  The damned scale refused to budge from that extra 3 pound number!  (a number, that by the way, I will NOT be revealing to you at this time, thankyouverymuch!)
Now, imagine the "Oh My Gosh" music from the shower scene in the movie "Psycho" blaring full volume in my ears!!  Because it was literally playing from some imaginary loud speakers throughout my house!  I mean,  I was seriously expecting to see at least a couple of OUNCES lost from 3 weeks ago.   Talk about epic fail!  My question is...when did THAT happen??!!  And more importantly, HOW did that happen??!!  My goal was to lose one pound a week until I lost 20 pounds.  Do you realize that at this rate, I am actually gaining one pound a week.  That means that if my stupid scale doesn't start cooperating and showing me a number I want to see, I could quite literally gain 20 pounds by my birthday!
I must share with you that it took every single ounce of self control in my 3-pounds heavier body to refrain from throwing that damned scale over my fence in the back yard!  Grrrrr.
So there you have it. I am an epic failure on my resolutions and I'm only 3 weeks into the year!
Can you please duct-tape my mouth shut next year at resolution time??!!  Pretty please?  Either that, or I could shave my head.  It worked for Peditos.  Nevermind!

Is it Friday yet??

Mini-dump

It's that time again...you know, for my regularly scheduled photo dump!  This is necessary every now and then because it's amazing how quickly my memory card fills up!  Only this time, it is a ity-bity mini-dump.  This is because these are the only pics on the memory card and it's telling me that it is out of memory!      I think I need a new one because it does crazy things like it will tell me it is out of memory with only like 8-15 pictures on it, or it will show "no images" on my screen-but when I try to upload to my computer, 1200+ pictures come up, or it will HIDE my pictures!!  It is very frustrating!  I'll probably buy one this weekend..

Oh, and these photos are in no particular order.  So if you think you will be bored with just simply viewing these few pics, come back tomorrow when I'll be back to regular programming, posting :

This is a pic the hubs and I took before going to dinner and a movie on our anniversary.  I may or may not have elbowed him during the movie a time or two because he was snoring!!

Flowers!

This next pic was taken Saturday on the pickup.  I have no idea what this is, but  I'm telling you, I have seen every kind of insect, arachnid and reptile since living here!  Ewwww.
And this is what I found when I came home from school.  Peditos rebels when he's left home alone.

I think we may need a sitter for our fur-baby!  Does anyone know what the going rate is these days??

'Ol Blue

Well, I'm back....and I must say that it feels like this hiatus I've been on sure felt like a million years!  In reality, it was only a little over a week, but so much has happened in that time.  I will definitely be posting very regularly now just to catch up!

One thing we did just recently was buy an old pickup.  And we all love it!  The kids only want a ride to school in 'Ol Blue, and I'm not kidding when I say that whenever we're ready to go somewhere anywhere, Peditos runs and waits right by the truck!  He loves riding in the front with us, then having the freedom to move to the box.

I'm so glad we bought it because we needed an older model pickup for important things...you know...like to be able to go cRaZy on that awesome list Craig has! (:
Besides,  I'm definitely a truck kinda girl.  Always have been.  In fact, my grandpa had a truck just like the one we got, and that is what I learned to drive in when I was 12!  My dad just handed me the keys and sent me to run an errand for him.  Just like that! I kinda had to learn all by myself!
I think that experience may have been a deciding factor in buying this old Ford.  You know how sometimes an old vehicle has a special place in your heart??  Well, this truck sure brings back good memories.......And it's in awesome shape and runs great too!

When I said we all loved it, I really meant ALL of us! (:

Peditos thinks he's a big, bad, bad doggy riding in the back of the truck! He's even started to pee on mailbox poles and trees with his leg up in the air!  True story! HA!

Have an awesome Thursday!

No car seats for me!

Is it weird that my dog thinks he's one of the kids?  Because he seriously does! My mom picked me up from school the other day in her van and I turned to put my backpack on the back seat and saw this:

Crazy dog could have layed/sat anywhere in the van, but he actually sat in the built-in baby seat!!  How insane is that??!!  I absolutely draw the line at buying a car seat for my car! (:

Wishing you a wonderful Labor day weekend!!

Loveland Lake!

This last weekend was fun.  Sunday was a beautiful summer day and we went to the Loveland Lake!  The lake is right smack in the middle of the city and you can either go to the beach area or to the grassy area.  Peditos was with us and since dogs aren't allowed on the beach area, we really didn't have a choice but to head to the grassy area.  It suited me just fine, because since he IS a part of our family, we like to include him in on our activities as much as we can.

The kids asked for a paleta as soon as we got there..

 YUM!!
 The water was so warm!!
 And Peditos jumped right in..
 He was a natural!

After about an hour of swimming and playing in the water...he was WIPED OUT!!

Tita came out of the water with a leaf stuck to her forehead!
After Peditos took a nap, he went right back into the water..

Oh, and I just HAD to take a picture of the boy with the bubble butt!  Everyone laughed at him and he even caught me taking a picture of him..
And we got soaked everytime Peditos came out of the water.  He'd walk right over to us and SHAKE off!!!
 Me and the hubs..

Marko and Tita then ganged up on their dad to try to throw him in..

 They succeeded!

 Then it was Marko's turn..

We got dressed and headed on over to the play equipment..
 So the kids can play..

  yep...ALL of the kids (:

Then we tried to take a picture of all of us.  So I set the self-timer and ran to the slide.  Right about this time, Peditos decided to stand right in front of the camera..
So I moved him and set the timer AGAIN.
But this time, some random little boy started running across...and decided to stop....YEP, he also decided to stop running right in front of the camera too!
Please excuse the poor quality of these pictures...I must have closed the flash when I ran back to the camera....

We had a very long, but fun day.  We were exhausted and HUNGRY!!  Qdoba was PERFECT before heading home..
So that was our Sunday.   And we enjoyed it very much! We are so fortunate that we have such a beautiful lake near our home.  We haven't been able to go to the mountains this summer because of the flash-flood warnings, but that's ok....we'll head to the mountains this winter to sled (:
