Hello 2012!

It's that time of the year again (for me, at least!)  You know that 4 month period at the beginning of every single year when you continue to date everything with last year's year?!  Yup.  I'm one of those people that will automatically write 2011 at the end of everything I have to date...like homework. (:  And yes, it usually takes me until at least April to remember it's a new year.  (UGH!)

Well, a brand, spankin'-new year is always accompanied with those pesky resolutions that always seem to be forgotten later in the year, and I mean way later.  Like........................January 2nd.

So here is my list.  I made a list of my 12 resolutions.  Get it?  12...2012?  hee hee (:

My 12 resolutions for this year are:

(drum-roll please!)

1. Lose weight.  I know, I know, those of you that know me personally, KNOW that this is always #1 on my list (and it probably always will be..)   I'm hoping to lose 20 lbs by my birthday.  That's a whole 4 months and 2 days away. Plus, 2012 is a leap year, so technically, I get an extra day...right?!  I think Yes!  So it basically boils down to about a pound a week (right?) or 1.11111111111.  Let's just say a pound.  That's doable, isn't it?  Now that I've broken it down to that....I really suck in the willpower department if I can't will myself to lose 1 damn pound a week!!  HA!

2.  Go to church more often.  We went to church today, and today is January 1, so I'm starting the year right!  Yay!

3.  Work my butt off in school and get awesome grades.  Nuff said.

4.  Make a quilt.  And I mean a real quilt.  A big quilt.  With lots and lots (like a couple hundred!) of little triangles.  You think I can do it?  We'll see (:  I've never, ever even attempted anything of this magnitude, BTW, but I have always loved quilts.

5.  Break down and finally buy those stupid tubs for my garage.  If you know me, you understand.

6.  Finish the dresser in my Gabby's bedroom.  I was so inspired by Katie from Bower Power on a junky looking dresser she made beautiful.  She's awesome.  If you get a chance, check out her amazing blog.

7.  Spend at least one day a month baking with my baby girl.  Baking isn't really my favorite thing to do, but Gabs LOVES it!  And I want to continue to create beautiful memories with my favorite little girl in the whole wide world.  I do love to cook, so it's not difficult to get me into the kitchen to create delicious things to eat.  Oh, and have I told you how I am convinced that in my former life I was like the cook for Alcatraz or perhaps the elementary schools for all of New York City??  Or maybe I was a caterer.  Seriously!  It is physically impossible for me to cook "normal" portions of anything.  Most people have industrial-sized pans because maybe they cook a huge meal once a year at maybe Thanksgiving.  I hate to admit it, but I seriously use my huge industrial-sized pans very often.    (Which, unfortunately, takes me right back to #1 on my list..)

8.  Spend more one-on-one time with my handsome Marko.  He's always asking me to work out with him.  And I always have a reason not to.  Not deliberately, but he always asks me when I'm busy.  I will make it a point to join him and that will help me with that #1 resolution on my list!

9.  Start going to Cathechism again.  The kids and I used to go until their 1st Communion and Confirmation.  The kids have been asking about going again and we loved going.   I will look into that this week!

10.  To be a better person.  Inside and out.  In every aspect of my life.  I try every single day.  But there is always room for improvement.  Nobody is perfect, and I don't want to be "perfect" but it doesn't hurt to strive for better.  Better is always good.

11.  Start writing a book.  (:

12.  This one might be viewed as a strange resolution, but it means a lot to me.  I think out of all of my resolutions, this is the most important.  And this resolution WILL happen because I am determined to make it happen.  I WILL purchase a video camera this year to capture those precious memories of my children.  Sooner rather than later.  I know it doesn't make any sense to any of you.  But it makes perfect sense to me.  This wasn't possible before, but now it is.

There you have it!    My 12 resolutions.  I think I will start at #12 and work my way backwards.

What resolutions are on your list?  Or did you even make a list?  I'd love to hear them.

Wishing everyone so much love, health and happiness for 2012!!!!!!!!!
