14 Birthday wishes

October 27, 2012

Marko,
Today is your 14th birthday!  Even though it's been 14 years since you were born on that beautiful Tuesday, I still vividly remember how I held you, gazed into your beautiful eyes and fell in love like never before.  I could not believe God had finally answered my prayers and blessed me with a perfect miracle baby of my own.

I counted your fingers and toes and promised you I would always love and protect you.  And I always will.  My love for you will never falter.

Son, my 14 birthday wishes for you are:

1. First and foremost, that you continue following God's path.  Respect others (especially women), but more importantly, respect yourself;
2. Be happy;
3. Never give in to peer pressure.  I would be naive to think you will never be faced with this, but I pray you stay true to yourself and love yourself enough to stand up for what is right;
4. Keep being a kid as long as possible.  You have plenty of time to be an adult with adult responsibilities.  I promise.;
5. Be happy;
6. Dream BIG.  Dream HUGE. And follow your dreams.  You are amazing and I know you can reach those dreams!
7. Never stop serenading us with the beautiful music you magically and easily learn on both the guitar and the keyboard.  You are so GIFTED;
8. Have fun;
9. Never allow anyone to dull your sparkle;
10. Never lose your beautiful sense of humor.  It's awesome;
11. Never, ever give up.  Ever.;
12. Always remember you are so loved;
13. Never forget that you can count on me for any problem you face.  No matter how big or small it may be.  Always;
14. Always remember how amazingly important you are.

Marko, I love you more than you could ever know.  And I am so proud to call you Son.

Happy Birthday mijo!!

First snow of 2012!

We got our first snow this week and this of course, means great photo ops!
These are just a few I've taken:

I let Peditos out to go potty and he just couldn't resist running through the snow.  Of course, this meant a nice hot bath for him as soon as we came inside..

Funny story with this picture above:  This is in my backyard and the yard is flat, except for probably the last foot where it slopes down to the fence.  Well, since I was so intrigued with the leaves, I forgot about the stupid slope.  I literally SLID down that foot of slope and was so worried about my camera falling into the snow!  I had it hanging from my neck, but with me falling in the snow, it still could have ended up also in the snow.  Anyway, as I was sliding/falling down the slope, I'm hanging onto the camera instead of breaking my fall, so this of course, resulted in me landing on my butt and barely missed landing on my dog.  But 'lo and behold, the camera was saved!!  I was so grateful for the privacy fence because I would have been so embarrassed if my neighbors had actually caught a glimpse of me at my most graceful moment ever..
 (:

I also want to thank those that sent me their email addresses.  I'm still trying to figure out how to do it. HA!  Hopefully, I'll have it figured out soon.

Have a beautiful day!

I think it's time..

I have decided to make my blog private in the next few days.  If anyone is interested in continuing to read my blog, please send me your email address and I'll add you to my list.

Thanks.  God bless!

Just a Silva-kinda day (:

Ok, so this post is about something that happened to Gabriella the other day that I literally laughed so hard about that my face hurt!!

Last week, she had her best friend Xochitl (pronounced soul-chee) spend the night on Saturday.  The girls watched movies, played games, ate pizza and munchies to their heart's content and giggled all night long.  Normal 12-year-old sleep-over behavior.
Well, Sunday, the girls were in the family room watching the rest of their movie from the night before and when it was over, Gabriella apparently got on the treadmill.  And put it on HIGH.  And climbed on.

I wasn't in the family room, so this is what Gabriella told me.  The girls were laughing so hard they had a hard time explaining it to me, but Gabriella said she fell to her knees almost immediately after getting on it and that she didn't have a choice but to run on her knees really, really fast because, remember I told you she had put it on HIGH??!!

Yeah.

Well, Xochitl turned it off (Thank goodness!!), but after about 15 seconds because she could not stop laughing.  She had tears in her eyes and was slapping her knee as she told me about it... so she didn't immediately stop it.  But Thank God she stopped it before my baby was hurt!  And since she wasn't hurt, the two girls and I laughed our butts off.

Here are the two pretty girls:

All these pics were taken AFTER the treadmill misadventure, so you can see my baby is just fine (:

These kind of misadventures are definitely Life, Silva style!

Have a fantastic weekend and God bless.

Sunday activities!

I was asked to take pictures of an awesome family last week.  I happily obliged...I mean, seriously, any excuse to play with my new toy works for me (:

Here are a just a few:

I L-O-V-E my new camera and I certainly don't intend for my blog to become a photo album, but I do plan on documenting my growing photography skills. haha

Happy Sunday!!

Hopscotch and leaves

The last couple of weeks I've been working on a school project for my visual journalism class.  It's been so much fun having to take pictures of one of my two favorite people in the whole world: my daughter, Gabriella (:
My project is finished and here are just a few of my favorites of all the pictures I took:

Have I mentioned how Hopscotch was one of my all-time favorite games to play as a little girl?

And have I mentioned that my favorite season EVER is Fall?  Ahhhh, I love, love, love it!!  Especially the beautiful Fall we are so blessed with here in Colorado.  They are simply amazing.

Have a blessed and beautiful weekend!
